The Ramblers Association now have a greatly improved website which is an exceptional rescource for all walkers, hykers and young families wanting to go for walks with young children. This site lists everything from historical walks to guided walks and really audious walks.

Find A Walk Near Me by Walking Britain is a truly excellent and free resource. Just enter where you are or where you would like to walk - and print out directions. The walks are graded and you can buy a specific map of the area at the same time. These are proper OS maps and weather proofed if required.

I always think of walking as one of the few activities you can do for free - and now you can with this guide!

Awesome day out, usually a large enough group of people to have fun and not be too crowded, rather expensive.

Good fun day and helpful staff

WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the country. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks..

Camping and Caravaning

Home Farm Camping, Glamping & Caravan Site

Home Farm, City Rd, Radnage, High Wycombe HP14 4DW, UK – 01494 484136

Lovely campsite with stunning view across the valley (helped by great weather for all 4 days). Nice "get away from it all" vibe, and access to great walks in the beautiful Chilterns. Plenty of nice country pubs to choose from in the area. No shops in the immediate vicinity, so bring all your provisions with you if possible (or else cycle/drive/ eat out!). Would visit again.

Great campsite. 3 lovely tiled shower rooms with a loo in each plus 2 more toilets. A fridge freezer on site which everyone shared with courtesy for others. We were glamping for the first time and it exceeded all expectations. Just needed to turn up with food and clothes! Lovely walks, lovely views and a very helpful owner. The pub next door was great and a 5 mins drive to a tesco express for any other supplies.

Bella Vista Camping

It's OK but for the price £20 you expect more, I have paid a lot less for better facilities. It would get 4 or 5 stars if it was £15

Lovely site. Owners are really nice. Will be staying again definitely.

Chiltern Hills AONB

Holmer Pl, Holmer Green, High Wycombe HP15 6SW, UK – 01844 355500

Feels like a family run pub. Good food and good accommodation for one night. Think the food could be improved but you can see they are on the way up. There is an overflow car park opposite the small car park so it's relatively easy to get to and park.

Went to fly kites and watch the gliders. Three car loads of us. Lot of fun, plenty of laughs at some of us and our pathetic attempt at flying the kites. Love walks. Enjoyed sitting and watching the gliders taking off and how far they would go. Sun shinning and our ice creams were gorgeous. The beauty of the Chilterns is wonderful and we All left happy
