The George & Dragon Hotel

High St, West Wycombe, High Wycombe HP14 3AB, UK – 01494 535340

My wife and I had a really great night at the George and Dragon and would highly recommend anyone pay them a visit! The old coaching inn is an amazing place, rambling and not a straight line in the place! The inn has been looked after very well and it is very comfy and homely, you can imagine how welcome it would have been for a traveller in the age of the horse. Our hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. After a good walk up to the hill, we came back ready for a good meal, and weren't disappointed! The beer in the bar was very well kept, from a local brewery and the food very good indeed. My wife said her fish was the best she can remember! All in all a wonderful experience! Thank you!

Great find. We were there on Friday. It was going to be a sandwich at the NT West Wycombe Park ....WW Park is not open on a Friday . What a treat , lovely old traditional pub, I think an old coaching Inn ? Great menu with Fish , Steaks , Pies and most things in between, with table service , all beautifully cooked and presented . Good choice of Beers , Wines and Spirits . Although it was actually too warm to sit outside ( how often do you get to say that in the UK ) there is a lovely private beer garden with tables and sunshades . On our next visit to WW Park , sorry NT cafe but it's the George and Dragon for lunch. ☺🍺🍷🍽

The Crown

City Rd, High Wycombe HP14 4DW, UK – 01494 482301

Stopped for a great cup of coffee during a bike ride. Super friendly there, lovely inside and especially outside at the moment due to the weather. Seating outside the front and back where there's a green. Open all day and well worth dropping in.

I was staying in the campsite down the road and spent a lovely evening here. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, really well run. The food was excellent and arrived piping hot. Came back for breakfast the next day and had one of the best English breakfasts I’ve had in a while - the eggs were particularly good. Will certainly come again if I’m in the area.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Squirrel House

129 New Rd, High Wycombe HP12 4RH, UK – 01494 520709

We had a great weekend the beds so comfy and owner was very friendly and helpful. Would definately return here.

We stayed here on 16th July, 2016. The rooms are very nice and clean and have everything you require for your stay. The hosts are very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble which showed in the fabulous choice that was offered to us at breakfast. If you are a light light sleeper make sure you ask for a room at the back as the main road is very busy and noisy all night. Although the rooms could do with some TLC it did not spoil our stay and we would highly recommend it.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

Campsites and Caravan Parks

Home Farm Glamping, Camping & Caravan Site

Home Farm, City Rd, High Wycombe HP14 4DW, UK – 01494 484136

My Partner and I went camping in our own tent we pitched up in nice place, quite far away from everyone else, it wasn't busy at all but everyone was very respectful with their own space. We are both in our twenties but come from a repping and camping background so love the simple things in life. The facilities are brilliant, clean showers and toilets, freezer and clothes dryer. We were so chuffed and happy to have found this beautiful place. We will absolutely be coming again! We shall be back with the in-laws in September for a lovely weekend! Also must add super dog friendly so all 3 of us could enjoy our stay!

Great camping experience. The price is what I expected if you consider what is included. Just pitching your own tent would cost min £30 for a family of 3. The staff was lovely and friendly. Tents were well organised and bed was very comfortable. BBQ and charcoal all provided and campsite is nice and clean. Would have liked a few more shaded areas to hide from the heat as the tents can get very hot in full sun. I didn’t give it 5 stars because showers are not available in the evening. It’s a weird policy because after a day of bbq and simmering in the heat I would have liked to wash away the grime and sweat before bed. You have to call and specifically ask them to turn on the shower which is a bit annoying. Showers on between 6-8 would be great or even 5-7pm.

Bella Vista Camping

City Road, Radnage, High Wycombe HP14 4DW, UK – 07976 256641

A real gem of a campsite. The bathrooms are of high quality. The owners are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this site.

A beautiful camping site (family owned) with everything a camper needs and a lovely nature touch, highly recommended for a calm and relaxed stay
